Crazy Kids

So I'm washing dishes....Eva & our cat, Sullivan, run through the kitchen. Eva screams at Sullivan, "I'm going to kick you in the asshole, Sullivan."
Allegedly, he ran off with her toast. I'm sure he ate it.

Eva and I had a long discussion about why her comment to Sullivan was not appropriate.
Sullivan walked by us, and Eva said, "Sorry, Sullivan."

Hopefully there will be no more kicking in the asshole comments.

That's right, I did win a 10 pound Turkey from the Lemon Tree Grocer for having the most "LIKES" for posting a photo of my favorite Thanksgiving dish.

You guessed it, my favorite TG dish is green bean casserole. I've always LOVED green bean casserole, and my Gramma would always make it at holidays. She always made green beans as a side in general. And I gotta say I LOVE LOVE LOVE green beans!

That aside, I am soo very happy to win something. I typically don't win things. For instance, last month I tried to win dinner for two at the Lemon Tree Grocer, and um, yeah...I failed....

Owen is sick again

Okay, what the????

Today, little Owen has a cough and everytime he sneezes giant boogers shoot out. Eva's asthma is bad. It's horrible.

I know there are worse things than this, but isn't breastfeeding supposed to ward against illnesses? Apparently, it doesn't fight against a germy 3 year old preschool classroom or a germy 3 year old sister.

Cross your fingers that they're better soon. Going from having some sleep at night to none again is a bit brutal.

Owen 11 weeks old, Oct 26th

Lately, this is Owen after he eats. He's such a smiley little guy. He's very smiley and coos a lot which is so neat to see. He's such a little sweetheart.

We took this photo after Owen ate while we sat at Starbux in downtown DG. Our power went out, and we decided to grab a tea. Starbux's power was out too. So we just sat around while Owen nursed, and Eva played with the toys there.

Eva learned to pee on the potty in the pitch black dark. Had to use my iphone to light up the bathroom a little.

Everything worked out great....headed off to breastfeeding support group at Hinsdale Hospital after that.

I love how Owen wakes up so happy. He's been eating a lot more at night, I think to catch up from all the meals he missed last week. The past several mornings he wakes up with a big smile on his face! I love this smiley face! :)

FIRST COLD

Owen's first cold/congestion on October 19th. He's not eating well, but he's sleeping okay. He doesn't mind the little nose's drops, but he hates having boogers sucked out...one would think we were killing him.

I'm hoping he becomes interested in nursing again soon, and hope this sickness ends.

At least we can hear him crying again. He was so congested on the 14th that everytime he "tried" to cry all I would see was his mouth opening and his face becoming mad. Who knew that this caused laringitis? sp?

Owen 10*10*10

Owen @ 2months old. We went to the Arboretum's Fall Color Festival with Delaney, Eva, Gretchen & Heidi. A great day was had by all!

Sept 11th, 2010

Owen sleeps like this a lot. It's nice to see him content sleeping. I think all of my kids have slept like this. Delaney thinks he looks like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer...Not so sure, but I see the "ears" in his hands....I love this little face. I think all of my children looked like this. :)

Sept 10th, 2010

Eva started preschool at Immanual Lutheran today. Owen & I were in attendance because I had to be there for a meeting. Turned out he became very fussy even though he had just eaten. I believe he might have been going through a growth spurt where he was eating every hour on the hour. Boo....

That aside, Mrs. Stumpf, the Preschool Director asked if she could take Owen. I said sure. She definitely had the magic touch because she came back into the room, and Owen was passed out! I was so excited. It was nice that he was able to calm down with someone else for a change. We have this cool picture of Mrs. Stumpf and Owen. Someday when he goes to preschool we can put up a picture how she held him at 4 weeks old. I was so happy with my preschool choice, and happy that Owen is a sweet snuggly baby!

Tomorrow is 11 weeks....

Owen on 8-11-10, just one day old.

Shit, it's like every complaint I made...but then twist it so that you have to feel bad because you said something.

Tired of the negativity. Tired of it...that is all.

Today

It's been a while since I've written. I mean to write everyday. I have hopes of it. But somehow...I don't get to it. I should make a pact like Amy Adam's character does in Julie & Julia. Somehow though, I am already online way too much due to work...uggh.

Anyways, this past weekend was great. I scrapbooked with some really awesome women. It turned out very fun & I even completed a lot of pages. Yay me! I hope I get to go to another one of these sometime soon. It was fun to hang out with Carla, Doreen, Cat, Denise, and DeAnn!
We also met a crazy girl who doesn't like Hawaii. I haven't been to Hawaii...but I so want to go there. :)

Monday was tough because I had to help D with her project...and I seemed to sleep in. Seemed like that staying up until 2 am on Saturday nite totally wiped me out. GEE...I wonder why?

I seem to be caught up on all my zillion classes, which is insane. Note to self...say no to some classes, Kelly. You don't need that many. The money will be awesome though.

Today, Tuesday, Eva and I went to her Penguin Pajama Party at the arboretum. She loved learning about Penguins. :) Now she's asking to go to the zoo to see them. So cute.
She's almost done potty training which is awesome. And I am so proud of her that she'll ask to go potty while at the kidzone...and she goes. YAY!

Luke went back to work today. But he's working in town. Nights though. :( Hopefully he'll have some days off so we see him.

Eva is already surprised he's at work...missing him a little. Me too.

We had a nice dinner....salad for me, and sandwiches for the girls (their request)....pretty easy.
Now I need to make some iced tea....and those fancy ice cream things that Gina posted about. Gina always has the best recipes ever. Which is good because I can use them too.

Well that's about that. That's all I have. Seems like a great day....and it's getting warmer outside!
